Self taught artist and craftsman Jim Zeigler began his long lasting affair with glass in 1972 and has since then refined his craft to include multiple aspects of the glass arts including Stained and leaded glass.
Etched and carved glass, Kiln formed and torch-worked glass bowls. vases, large art platters and custom glass tiles. Many of the glass projects have incorporated native woods and have also been combined with hand formed wrought iron and glass combinations such as staircases, fireplace screens, tables, door pulls, bar railings and free standing art pieces.
Specializing in abrasive etched and carved entryways, shower doors and enclosures, mirrors, tabletops and cabinet glass for custom homes, remodels, restaurants, businesses and galleries. He can also apply hand chipped “iceberg” edging to thick glass tabletops as well as incorporating controlled glue chipping into his etched and carved work. Jim also offers in shop repairs to broken and damaged stained glass.
Jim Zeigler prefers to divide his art into four primary categories that include Stained and Leaded glass. Kiln-formed glass (fused & slumped) Etched and Carved glass and mixed media & functional art. He also installs most of his work on larger pieces or will oversee the installation by others.
He individually drafts his drawings from beginning to end (No CAD) unless there is something someone has designed themselves or they saw something likable in a pattern book or magazine, the work will be original and specific to the client’s wants. All materials used are the best available in glass, metals, wood, copper foil, lead came and all done by Jim personally.

Jim’s reputation is well known in the interior décor and custom home builder community across Arizona and he prefers to work closely with designers and homeowners alike to coordinate ideas and colors to compliment the interior of the home. He has been called “The best kept secret in the White Mountains” by many upon seeing his work for the first time. His ideas are endless for both contemporary and traditional applications and before the work leaves his studio it has his name on it. His full time 3000 sq. ft. studio always has a variety of stained glass, kiln-formed and etched glass on hand and people are always welcome to drop in and see what’s new and exchange ideas.

Jim is a full time, hands on craftsman in Show Low, Arizona for over 35 years.
